Book Review of "Stellar Astrology" by Alan Annand

Review by Michael Laughrin, Michael@jyotish.ws

"Stellar Astrology" by Alan Annand is a compendium of chart analyses of many famous people and some events that have been in the news over the last 5-10 years. If you know the basics of Jyotish (or even just Western astrology), you'll find this volume to be an excellent guide.

The author uses many techniques to arrive at the truth of a chart, i.e., nakshatras, navamsha and other divisional charts, prashna chart (for questions posed now), Chandralagna chart (making the Moon sign the ascendant), and special rules for Rahu & Ketu. There are also other articles on palmistry, numerology and omens.

If you're already an astrologer, a careful reading of this book will sharpen your interpretive skills wonderfully. If you're a beginner in Jyotish, it will show you how to analyze a chart properly. I find this little tome to be one of the most useful and practical volumes in my personal astrology library of 120 books.
